The Oxfordshire Linux User Group is a forum for bringing together people with an interest in Linux and what it represents in a friendly and informal atmosphere. In past years the group met regularly at speaker events and socials (on the first Sunday of each month), but in recent years the group's activity has been limited to mailing list discussions -- a reflection, perhaps, of the growing maturity of Linux as a platform.

There is no fee for membership, nor any restriction on who can join, though a small fee may be charged for some events to covercosts.

If you're interested in joining us, then the best thing to do is to join the mailing list. Visit http://lists.oxlug.org/mailman/listinfo/oxlug to subscribe to the list, or send an email to oxlug-request@lists.oxlug.org with the text subscribe in the body.

The main OxLUG mailing list is currently running at between five and ten messages a day. If you feel that this is a bit much for you, then you can subscribe to the Announcements mailing list. Visit http://lists.oxlug.org/mailman/listinfo/oxlug-announce to subscribe to the list, or send an email to oxlug-announce-request@lists.oxlug.org with the text subscribe in the body. All mails from oxlug-announce also go to the oxlug list too, so you only need to subscribe to one of them.
